Senti Bio has built a synthetic biology platform that enables it to program next-generation cell and gene therapies with “gene circuits.” These gene circuits, which are created from novel and proprietary combinations of DNA sequences, reprogram cells with biological logic to sense inputs, compute decisions and respond to their cellular environments.

Driven by strong leadership
CEO and co-founder, Tim Lu, brings his expertise in computer programming, electrical engineering and microbiology to Senti. Tim started the company in 2016 with former MIT classmate Philip Lee, who received his PhD from UC Berkeley’s Graduate Program in Bioengineering and is the former Director of New Business at Merck KGaA. Senti Bio’s team is comprised of industry-leading experts, including scientists, engineers, advisors and company-builders—all with a deep knowledge of synthetic biology, gene circuits and cell and gene therapy.
